About Laura.
Before having my own four children, I worked as a preschool teacher for three years. Now, in one of those full-circle moments that feels almost too perfect to script, I return to that same preschool each year as their school photographer. Over the years, I've photographed thousands of their students, and providing a personalized school photography experience has become one of my favorite parts of this job.
Another favorite? Documenting families through every stage of life, and children from birth through graduation. To every family who has welcomed me into their story: thank you.
If you're considering LSP for your photography needs, I'm truly grateful you're here. There are so many talented photographers to choose from, and whether you hire me or not, I promise to lead with honesty and integrity. Call me old-fashioned, but I believe in genuine customer service, treating people well, and keeping my promises. I love my clients, and I hope that shows in every interaction.
I'll wrap up with a few quick facts about me – because every good About Me page needs those, too.
1. I've been married to Jason since 2010, and together we have four amazing children.
2. In addition to photography, I love to write. Every word on this website was written by yours truly – em dashes and all. I've been using them long before ChatGPT came along!
3. I have a BA in History and Professional Writing and Rhetoric. I took plenty of photography classes along the way, too.
4. I also work part-time as the Communications and Grants Coordinator for my local school district. My work includes writing, graphic design, and – you guessed it – photography.
5. I love to travel! In recent years, Jason and I have visited Scotland twice, as well as Iceland and the Faroe Islands. The Azores are high on our future travel list, but first: another trip to Scotland with the kids in 2027. It's our favorite place on earth.
At the end of the day, I'm here because I genuinely love this work and getting to know the people in front of my camera. Whether we’re gathering the family together for a photo that everyone actually likes, documenting your high school senior before they graduate, or making animal noises to make your toddler laugh, I'm grateful to be there.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope to see you on the other side of my camera soon.
