This photo session was a lonnnnnggggg time coming. Kaela and I started planning in the fall of 2021, and I kid you not: we had the worst luck with weather. We finally made these photos happen in the spring of 2023. It's hard to coordinate schedules with 4 separate family groups, and when the Colorado weather throws in hurricane force winds in the fall and late spring blizzards that makes it even harder. We almost had another weather/atmosphere issue when the Canada fire smoke threatened to wipe out all of the views on our scheduled date, but we ended up with a solid hour of smoke relief during our photo session, and I'm so grateful that it finally worked out.
All of that aside: these photos were worth the wait! I LOVED this family from the start – they were easy going, kind, and so much fun to work with. They came to my home in Kiowa during my favorite time of year (spring!!) and we had tall green grass, wildflowers, and mountain views. It was perfect.
Kaela and family: THANK YOU, from the bottom of my heart, for trusting me to photograph your incredible extended family. I hope they were worth the wait! 💛
