I close my calendar in early December each year to give myself time to finish up galleries and enjoy some downtime with my family. The exception to that rule is newborn photo sessions! Baby Hayes was born the week before Christmas, and I loved every second of my time with this new family of 3 (actually, 4 if you count their precious dog!) 

I made my way to their gorgeous Littleton home on December 23rd to document baby Hayes, and I can't imagine a more perfect Christmas gift than this little guy. This family had the PERFECT home for photography: tons of natural light, a variety of great spaces, and impeccable decor. Most of us don't have perfectly curated homes, so I thought I'd talk a bit about how that affects newborn photo sessions today... 

My house was a disaster after each of my babies came home, because let's be honest – when you have a newborn, cleaning is not at the top of your to-do list. When I arrive at a client's home for newborn photos, I will take a quick look at a handful of rooms to find the best places for photos. Usually that includes the nursery, master bedroom, living room, or a combination of the 3. If you have clutter, don't stress! I will move things if needed, and use creative angles to avoid clutter in your photos. My goal will always be to focus on you and your family, so please don't worry about the cleaning. 💙

Congratulations to this wonderful family on the arrival of their baby boy! I can't wait to share a few of my favorite photos from their newborn photo session – it was a good one!
