Red Truck Holiday Photo Recap 2021 + Q&A
The red truck holiday mini-sessions have taken on a life of their own in the past few years. What started as a fun photo session with my own children has now become a holiday memory for countless other families. Before I share some highlights from this year's holiday mini-sessions, I thought I'd tackle a few frequently asked questions...
Q: Is the truck available for other photographers to rent?
A: No. I receive a LOT of emails about this each year, so I'm answering this question first. I actually don't own the truck – my parents do. It belonged to my grandpa, and after he passed away, my parents brought it home to Colorado. My dad spent years restoring the truck, and now I rent it every November for these mini-sessions. Would they let me use it for free? Probably, 😉 but I pay them a set amount per mini-session family to put toward the truck's maintenance. Classic cars aren't cheap, and my dad has to set aside several days to be at my beck and call for photo sessions, so it's the least I can do.
Q: What outfit colors coordinate with the truck?
A: I've seen some great choices over the years! A few of my favs have been matching pajamas, holiday colors (green looks great, but I don't recommend wearing too much red because it can be overpowering with the truck), neutrals, blues, and so many others. Q: What is your photo session turnaround time? I need to send out cards!
A: My turnaround time is fast – around 7 days. You'll have your photos in plenty of time for Black Friday sales!
