Heather and Josh's Castle Rock engagement session was a joy in every way possible! First–and most importantly–they are incredible human beings who radiate kindness and love. We also lucked out with a gorgeous December day in Colorado, and even though the fall colors were gone we found pockets of color and some beautiful Colorado backdrops to take advantage of. Seriously–scroll on down because you won't believe that the trees were almost completely bare and brown when you see how fall-like our first backdrop looked! (For anyone who may be curious...Heather and Josh were shaded, but the tree behind them was in direct sunlight and was reflecting the golden colors into the camera. 😊)
I've always struggled with winter photo sessions–Colorado is either freezing cold and covered in snow, or warm but lacking color. Over the past couple of years I've challenged myself to try to love winter photo sessions, and this one in particular gave me such a boost artistically. Heather and Josh were so natural in front of the camera and needed very little direction, which gave me the opportunity to think outside of the box and get creative. I'm honestly obsessed with these photos, and they even made me want to photograph more winter photo sessions despite my dislike of being cold. 😉
Heather and Josh: I wish you both so much happiness as you start your lives together, and I couldn't be more happy for you! Congratulations on your engagement, and thank you for trusting me with your engagement photos!!
