I've had so many people ask me if Jason and I bought our house (in part, at least) because it is such a great location for photo sessions, and I feel so silly when I have to admit that it literally didn't cross my mind even once when we chose to live here. We knew that we wanted to be in Elbert County, but this particular house just kind of fell into place in a really cool way – the rustic backdrops and unobstructed views of Pike's Peak were just a fun bonus. To be fair, I wasn't photographing a lot of photo sessions back then because I was primarily a wedding photographer, but it still feels a little crazy. I did my first photo session here out of necessity – I had a colicky newborn who was exclusively nursing and I couldn't be gone for more than a couple of hours at a time, so I offered to have a couple of people come out here for their photos. The rest is history. 😉

Fast forward 4 years and farm sessions have become a full-fledged "thing." What started out of necessity has become an integral part of my brand, and one of my very favorite places to photograph my clients – including this gorgeous family! The Robersons were one of my last families of 2020, and I loved my time with them so much! They were laid back, so kind, and a lot of fun – and the farm was the perfect backdrop for their winter photo session.
