This is an extra special post for me today. Sarah has been my friend for over 20 years - we met in geometry class during our freshman year of high school, and then re-connected right after graduation at our mutual credit union. We were inseparable for years, and when I married Jason in April 2010, she and her family (who already felt like family to me) became my family, officially.
To make a *very* long story short: she introduced me to her cousin Jason in 2001 and he and I became good friends, 8 years later we were engaged, fast forward 10 years later and we are unabashedly happy with 4 kids, 2 dogs, 15 chickens, and a life that is so much different (in the best way possible) than what I ever could have imagined. There are very few people who have had a larger impact on my life than she has, and I am eternally thankful for her friendship and the fact that we can be BCF's for life. (Best cousin-friends.)
Don't even get me started on her boys, because I couldn't love them more! Matthew and Liam are some of my very favorite humans, but if it's possible I think that my kids love them even more than I do. Liam is two weeks older than my daughter Addie, so they have known each other since birth and now they are 9 years old and have the sweetest friendship. Matthew has recently won over my 3 year old son Benny, and they are officially best friends. I have never met a kinder, more mature, and awesome kid than Matthew. Any 13 year old who is as sweet as he is to a 3 year boy with hero worship is the real MVP in my book.
I could literally rave about these three forever, but you are probably here for the photos so I'll move on. ;-) We met in Old Littleton for some pre-sunset family photos, and we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful evening. The Crabapple Trail and flowers were in full-bloom, and we ended the night with a picture perfect sunset (which means a silhouette photo for anyone who knows me!) And just for fun, I will end this post with a few personal (phone) photos of the kiddos throughout the years.
Sarah, Matthew, and Liam: I am thankful beyond words for you three. Thank you for letting me photograph you again, and I can't wait to do it again soon! :-)
Liam and Addie in 2010 vs 2019
Matthew with my son Benny, because they have the most awesome friendship EVER. (Pink sunglasses because he has 3 older sisters and we couldn't find any of his blue pairs, haha)
A Couple of cute photos with all 6 kids together. :-)
