I have been swearing up and down for years, that I would NEVER take photos here at the farm in Kiowa at any time other than sunrise/sunset (unless it was cloudy/foggy/etc etc etc.) Well, I'm sure you have figured out that the point of this post is to tell you that I broke my own rule, and I actually really love the photos! However, having said that I will probably never do it again if I can help it, hahahaha.
My cousin Matthew, his wife Christy, and their three kids just stopped by for a super short visit. Since they were only here for a couple of hours, we didn't have the luxury of choosing the "ideal" time to update their family photos, but we didn't let that stop us! I dragged them out to the fields at the absolute "worst" time of day (about 2:00pm with zero shade and the harshest light EVER) and we did our thang. Are there a few more highlights than I'd like? Yep. Do I love the golden hour sun more than just about anything else? Of course. But above all, I love these people and I am so happy to have had the chance to photograph them again. (See our last session from the middle of Kansas here.)
Matthew and Christy: thank you SO much for stopping by to see us, and for letting me photograph you again! We love you guys!!
