I photograph my fair share of family sessions here in Kiowa, but this one was something totally new and fun! Jessie contacted me right before Thanksgiving to see if I could photograph her family of 7 together at their new home in Kiowa, and I was thrilled to have a chance to photograph a new local family!   

You have probably seen the views from my farm, but the Free family's property is completely different and only a couple of miles away from me! They have a gorgeous magical forest, and we were blessed with some stunning evening light that just added to the beauty of their property. One of my favorite parts of living in Elbert County is the variety in landscapes. One minute you are taking in the views of Pikes Peak and the rolling Colorado plains, and the next minute you feel like you have entered a mountain forest. It is stunningly beautiful everywhere you look! 

I need to take a minute to talk about these kids too. I was expecting to have to pull out my entire bag of tricks to get a good photo of all seven of them together (because when there are young children involved it can get tricky.) However, I sat them all down together and hit the jackpot on our very first photo! (Take a look at the first photo below if you want to see what I mean.) My jaw hit the floor because that never happens, and ESPECIALLY not with a baby and 3 other kiddos who are 5 and under!! We then got to spend the rest of our time together having fun and getting a ton of great photos of everyone.

Bob and Jessie - you have such a gorgeous family, and I am so happy that we are now neighbors! I hope that you love your photos as much as I do, and I hope to photograph you all again soon!! <3
