Baby Jax // Denver In-Home Newborn Session
I absolutely LOVE photographing in-home newborn sessions! There is something so personal and authentic about photographing the newborn baby in their own home! I could go on and on (and on) about why I think these are so amazing, but I will just stick with a few of my top reasons. ;-)
1.) It is so much more comfortable for the new family! I come to you, so you don't have to load everyone up and drive anywhere - that is a big win!
2.) Your photos will incorporate your own home, which in my opinion makes them even more special! Not only will you be able to look back and remember your child as a newborn, but you will be able to see the nursery that you lovingly planned for them as well.
3.) If you need to feed or change your baby you can easily do that in the comfort of your own home! I schedule 2-3 hours for each in-home newborn session, because newborns are unpredictable and I don't ever want a family to feel rushed or stressed.
4.) Are you worried because your house isn't picture perfect? Don't be! You just had a baby, and the last thing you should be worrying about is cleaning your house! I typically only use 1-2 rooms for the photos (usually the nursery and either the living/family room or master bedroom depending on where the best light is.) If you have time to pick up those couple of rooms before your session - great. If not - don't stress! I will work around any clutter and you will never see any of it in the photos!
5.) If your baby needs to sleep during our session that is no problem at all! I love sleepy newborns and we will take lots of sweet photos of your baby sleeping in his/her bed as well as snuggled up with you. :-)
Now that I have told you why I LOVE in-home newborn sessions, I am beyond excited to share one of my favorites! I have had the honor of photographing this family since early 2012, and it has been been a joy to photograph their engagement, wedding, maternity, and several family sessions! I was ecstatic to photograph their new little guy Jax in their beautiful home in Denver! Their home was full of gorgeous natural light, and Jax's nursery design was so unique and fun! I think my favorite photo from the entire session is the one that shows Brittanie (mom) holding baby Jax while big brother Colt plays with toys in the nursery. It was an unposed moment, and one of those memories that will be so fun to look back on later. I hope you enjoy some of my favorites from the session!
This photo cracks. me. up! It is just so typical of older sibling love (and toddler life in general, haha.)
